Email marketing for trades that keeps old customers coming back

Every customer you've done a good job for is your next booking, as long as they remember your name. We set up done-for-you email marketing for trades, from plumbers and heating engineers to electricians, builders, roofers and landscapers. Review requests, service reminders and quote follow-ups that send themselves. Built and run from Cramlington for trades in Newcastle, the North East and across the UK.

    01THE HARD TRUTH

You did the job. Then they forgot your name.

Most trades take a phone number, finish the job, send the invoice and move on. The customer never hears from them again.

A year later the boiler needs a service, or the back garden needs doing. They can't find your number. So they Google someone new and pay them instead.

That's not because they didn't like your work. It's because nobody reminded them.

Ads get dearer. Google moves the goalposts. Facebook changes who sees what. Your customer list is the one thing nobody can take off you, and most trades never use it.

    02THE SOLUTION

What actually makes email marketing work for trades

It's triggered by the job, not the calendar.

Emails go out when something happens: a job is marked done, a quote is sent, a service is due. You don't have to remember a thing.

    It sounds like you.

Short, plain emails from your name, not glossy newsletters. "Hi Karen, it's Mark. Your boiler service is due next month. Want me to book you in?" People reply to that.

    It brings in reviews.

After each job, a thank you and a Google review request go out automatically, with a one-tap link. More reviews come in while you're on the next job.

    It follows up quotes.

Sent a quote and heard nothing? A friendly follow-up goes out a few days later, then another a week after. Plenty of people meant to say yes and just forgot to reply.

    It lands in the inbox.

We set up your email domain properly, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, so your emails are trusted and don't end up in spam.

    04HOW IT FITS

Email, texts and bookings in one system

Your emails run from the same system as your texts, inbox and calendar. When someone replies, it lands in your all-in-one inbox on your phone. When they want to book, they pick a slot in your online booking system.

Email marketing is £497 a month on its own, or £297 a month when you take it with the Growth System. The Growth System itself is £297 a month and comes with a free 20+ page website, with no setup fee, no contract and a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Got a big list of old customers who haven't heard from you in years? Start with a customer reactivation campaign, then keep them warm with regular emails.

Email keeps the customers you've already won. Local SEO and missed call text back help you win new ones.

    07FAQ

    Email Marketing FAQs

In the UK you can usually email people who've bought from you, or asked for a quote, about similar services. They need to have had a chance to opt out when you took their details, and every email must have an unsubscribe link. This is called the “soft opt-in” under the PECR rules. We add the unsubscribe link to every email, and we won't use a list you bought or got from somewhere else.

Most emails are triggered by a job, a quote or a service date, so each customer only gets what's relevant to them. On top of that, we suggest a seasonal email every month or two. We won't fill your customers' inboxes.

No. Most trades don't need a newsletter, and most customers won't read one. A handful of useful, well-timed emails does more. If you'd like a regular update as well, we can add one.

Start collecting them now. Every new enquiry and booking through the Growth System captures an email address. For older customers where you only have a phone number, we can use text messages instead.

We set up your sending domain with SPF, DKIM and DMARC, the records email providers check before they trust a sender. Plain, personal emails sent to people who know you also tend to land better than glossy promotions.

Yes. Replies land in your all-in-one inbox, and you can see who clicked and who booked. Open rates aren't reliable any more, because some email apps open messages automatically, so we report on replies and bookings instead.
